On President al-Assad's visit to Russia

The Saudi daily al Riyadh said today quoting Russia media sources as saying that President Hafez al-Assad will on April 12 and 13 visit Moscow during which he will meet with the Russian President Boris Yeltsin and his Premier Y. Primakov.

In a statement to the daily's correspondent in Saudi Arabia, a diplomatic source expected that President Hafez al-Assad will take with him in his visit to Russia a big delegation representing high ranking officials and ministers, a matter which would help in deepening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The Diplomatic source indicated that the main topics to be discussed during the Russian-Syrian summit is the question of the Middle East, revitalizing the Russian role and measures that should be taken to break the stalemate and withstand the Israeli intransigent towards the peace process peace process.
