Morocco's launches 220 million international tender for power projects

Morocco launched lately a $ 220 million international tender for the construction of two power plants in the central region. The 450 megawat plants, whose construction will start by the end of the current year, are expected to be operational by year 2003.
The Moroccan Electricity Office said it is negotiating a loan with an international bank to co-fund the project aimed at boosting Morocco's energy self-sufficiency by the turn of the century.
