Kuwait-Iraq-UN, Politics, 3/31/1999
The United Nations Iraq-Kuwait Observer Mission (UNIKOM) reported that conditions along the Iraq-Kuwait border is generally calm, and UN Secretary General Kofi Annan recommended in a report to the Security Council that the mission be maintained.
The UNIKOM report said that cooperation continue with both the Iraqi and Kuwaiti governments and that US and British air strikes against Iraq had not had a significant effect on the mission's operations.
