Israel escalates aggressions against south Lebanon, four Lebanese wounded

Four Lebanese soldiers were wounded in the attacks launched by the Israeli occupation forces on Tuesday against areas of south Lebanon and the western Bekaa.
Meanwhile, the Lebanese resistance carried out four operations against the Israeli and pro-Israeli South Lebanon Army militia patrols and positions, and direct hits were inflicted on the two sides.
In a statement, the Lebanese resistance said one of its groups attacked an Israeli engineering force while carrying out fortification works inside the Sujoud position, achieving direct hits, and smoke was seen billowing from the position's western fortifications.
Another Lebanese resistance group attacked an armored Israeli vehicle in "Dhour al-Hama " district near Shehein. Direct hits were scored.
The statement added that a third Lebanese resistance group attacked the Israeli position in al-Sweida where direct hits were achieved.
Earlier, the Israeli occupation forces continued their attacks on areas adjacent to the occupied part of south Lebanon and its western Bekaa. Lebanese security sources said Israeli artillery positioned in Qadi Abu Qamha bombarded on Tuesday afternoon the mountains of Ein Atta, Janam valley on the al-Sheikh mountain plains. The sources added that during the two-hour bombardment Israel dropped one shell every minute.
Simultaneously, Israeli artillery bombarded Meimas crossing and al-Wastai mountain from its positions in al-Daheira and Tallat Kawkaba.
The enemy bombardment covered also the towns of Kafra, Yater, Haris, Zibqin, Eita al-Jabal, Hadatha, Wadi al-Kofour, and al-Assi district in the Western sector, al-Rafee mountain and al-Litani river course, al-Slawqi valley, al-Tassi river course in the al-Tuffah district hills and heights.
The aggressions were coincided with intensive machine gun fire and mock and provocative raids launched by the Israeli warplanes over the three western, central and Eastern sectors of south Lebanon and al-Nabatieh and al-Tuffah districts.
In the afternoon the Israeli war helicopters carried out a mopping up operation in the western plains of al-Sheikh mountain, using heavy artillery for the first time in five years.
Lebanese security sources said that between 1:30 and 2:30 p.m. ( Lebanon local time) the Israeli Cobra helicopters mopped up the heights of Jabal al-Khan, the heights of Jabal al-Aqaqir, Bab al-Aqaba, al-Jabal al-Wastani, Beer al-Khan and the area located between Ein Atta town and Shabaa in the eastern sector of south Lebanon.
The Lebanese army anti-aircraft missiles deployed in the area intercepted the Israeli helicopters which deployed thermal balloons. The mopping-up operations also covered the surroundings of the Lebanese army in Abu al-Zaher and al-Murj heights.
The Lebanese security sources said that the Israeli Cobra helicopters opened heavy machine gun fire on the Lebanese army position in al-Jabal al-Wastani near Rashayya. The Lebanese security sources stated that four soldiers at the said position were wounded.
