Mubarak's visit to China to establish new foundation for bilateral relations
Egypt-China, Politics, 3/30/1999

Chinese diplomatic sources in Cairo said that China is very concerned with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak's visit to China and that they expect full success.

The sources said this visit will establish a new foundation for relations between Egypt and China in the 21st century as major countries in Asia and in the Middle East and that Mubarak will exchange ideas with Chinese President Jiang Zemin regarding regional urgent issues out of the Egyptian and Chinese belief that peace and development are among the world's main issues.

The sources added that the two presidents will discuss all aspects of commercial and economic cooperation between their countries and means of enhancing this cooperation. The two sides are expected to reach agreements during the visit.
