Rebels kill 83 Sudanese soldiers

The rebel Sudanese People's Liberation Army said in a statement yesterday that its fighters killed 83 Sudanese soldiers, including nine officers during battles between them.
The statement said that rebel forces located in the southern Blue Nile province were able to break the siege imposed by Sudanese governmental troops on Olo city over the last 4 months.
It also stated that SPLA forces launched an attack on Friday and Saturday against the governmental forces beseiging the city and inflicted severe losses in personnel and equipment.
It also said the SPLA seized large amounts of ammunition, equipment and weapons.
