Aviation between Egypt and Europe disrupted
Egypt, Economics, 3/30/1999
The battles in Yugoslavia caused disorder in the civil aviation coming from European capitals to Cairo International Airport then returning to European capitals for the third consecutive day, which lead to delays of one to three hours for ten trips heading to Europe. Cairo airport received an announcement from two pilots, informing it of the closure of some airways over Europe which were diverted to alternate routes, away from the fighting in Yugoslavia, which led to the delay of some flights to Copenhagen, Paris, Siwnieg, London and Barcelona.
