Morocco hopes NATO military operations against Yugoslavia would lead to peace
Morocco, Politics, 3/26/1999

Morocco hopes that the military operations launched by the NATO against Yugoslavia would lead to a definite peacefull settlement of the Kosovo crisis.

The spokesman for the Moroccan government regretted that Yugoslavia failed to respond favorably to the peace appeals and offers made by the international community, namely by the OSCE (Organisation of Security and Cooperation In Europe), France and Great Britain.

The Moroccan official said at a press briefing on Thursday in Rabat following the Cabinet's weekly meeting that the settlement of the Yugoslav crisis should ensure the legitimate rights of the Kosovar people who were denied self-rule by the Milosovic government.

NATO forces started on Wednesday strikes against Yugoslavia after it refused to sign agreements with Kosovo.
