Pope's visit to holy places is not assured yet

A diplomatic source in the Vatican's embassy in Cairo confirmed today that a visit from Pope John Paul II to holy places in Palestinian and Israeli areas is not yet certain. The Pope desires to pay such a visit in light of celebrations of the new millennium.
The source told ArabicNews.com that the Israeli Ministry of Tourism announced the visit of the Pope and no press statement was released for this visit.
Meanwhile, the source did not deny the possibility of the Pope's visit to the holy places in light of the Church's celebrations of the third millennium, but it is not finally specified.
