Chilean economic delegation shortly in Morocco
Morocco-Chile, Economics, 3/24/1999
A Chilean economic delegation will shortly pay a visit to Morocco to explore cooperation prospects between the two countries.
The announcement was made by Chilean ambassador to Morocco, Luis Carlos Coycoolea Crez, at a meeting in Rabat with Minister of Trade and Industry Alami Tazi.
The visit that might result in the setting up of a Moroccan-Chilean business council is meant to upgrade trade exchange, which does not exceed $5 million (50 Million dirhams) per year, at a time when each of the two countries exports products that are needed by the other side. Chile can export wood and copper to Morocco which in turn can sell phosphates and canned fish to Chile.
The two countries are discussing a draft commercial agreement.
