Mandela: Libya's handing over of the two suspects, unconditional
Libya-South Africa, Politics, 3/24/1999

President Nelson Mandela of South Africa asserted on Tuesday that Libya's handing over of the two suspects in the Lockerbie incident is unconditional.

In a press conference Mandela held today in Cape Town at his residence, he added, "There are no links nor consequences to be connected to the process of handing over the two Libyans who will handed over before April 6.

Mandela added that the handing over operation is not conditional. Last week, Mandela announced during a private visit to Tripoli, Libya that Col. Moammar Gaddafi has set April 6 as a final date for handing over the two Libyan suspects.
