2.5 million expected to visit Dubai shopping festival

The committee organizing the Dubai Shopping Festival which began last Thursday expects that 2.5 million visitors will attend the festival, spending more than 4 billion dirhams during the festival's third session.
The organizers of this session aim at merging economic and social targets to push the economy of Dubai forward in the period after the dependence on petroleum that greatly depends on free trade and large facilities.
The Dubai festival lures many Arab and foreign visitors either residing in the United Arab Emirates or outside it due to the large prizes presented by the festival's administration, such as gold bars, cars and valuable jewelry.
