AL envoy to Kuwait to discuss resolving the captives issue

Arab League envoy Hussein Hassouna headed to Kuwait to discuss with the Kuwaiti leadership the issues of Kuwaiti and Saudi captives and missing.

Hassouna told ArabicNews.com that he is going to meet with high-ranking Kuwaiti officials and that he will submit a report on the outcome of his visit to the Arab League's secretary general on contacts with Iraq, Arab countries, International Committee of the Red Cross concerning the captives and missing.

The Arab foreign ministers have authorized the Arab League's secretary general to draft a mechanism for settling the issue of the missing and captives, so he received copies of the decisions concerning Iraq, the peace process, the situation in Golan, and south Lebanon to deliver to UN Secretary General Kofi Annan, the head of the Security Council and the council's five permanent member states.
