International meeting on nuclear energy regulations held in rabat

An International meeting on the regulations and latest safety norms used in nuclear energy was held over the weekend in Rabat.
Participants called for cautious development of nuclear energy projects and stressed the need to take into account the ecologic and environment protection in launching nuclear programs.
They also called for the consolidation of international cooperation in exchange of experiences in safety norms, the regulations governing nuclear energy use, protection from nuclear radiations as well as in nuke wastes processing, management and shipment.
Morocco, which has a national center of nuclear energy sciences and is planning to build a nuclear desalination plant in Southern Morocco, wants to benefit from the experiences of advanced countries in the field.
Morocco hosted lately a regional African meeting supervised by the International Atomic Energy Agency on latest safety measures in nuclear energy and the protection from hazardous radiations.
