Tunisian order of merit for Othman al-Aidi

Tunisian Minister of Tourism and Traditional Handicrafts Salaheddine Maawi has, in the name of Tunisian President Zein al-Abidin Bin Ali, invested Othman al-Aidi with the Golden Jasmine order of merit, the highest in the domain of tourism, in appreciation for his being the first Arab (Syrian) to assume the post of the chairman of the International Federation for Hotels and Tourism.
On Wednesday, works of the first regional international forum opened to deal with the united European currency, the euro, and its impact on tourism in the Middle East and North Africa.
The conference was organized by the World Tourism Organization in collaboration with the Tunisian Ministry of Tourism.
The Tunisian tourism minister and al-Aidi talked about the importance of the forum and the topics it will debate concerning the tourism sector in North Africa and the Middle East. They called on the participating delegations for more cooperation to develop and reactivate the tourism industry.
