US First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton will be staying in Morocco this March 27 through April 1, it was officially announced Tuesday at the White House.

Mrs. Clinton, who is scheduled to visit Marrakesh, Fes and Ouarzazate (southern Morocco), will use her visit to get acquainted with Morocco's rich historical and cultural legacy, participate in various health and education events and find out about Morocco's pilot experience in the multi-party system, religious tolerance and promotion of civil society, said the first lady's office.

Mrs Clinton will also deliver a speech at an international conference on "education and the private sector: a requirement of development." She is also scheduled to visit a hospital where US Peace Corps volunteers are cooperating with local communities enforce programs of family planning and mother-child health programs. Hillary will dedicate a surgery ward at a hospital in Fes, one of seven Moroccan hospitals which were revamped with the assistance of the US Agency for International Development (USAID).

A visit to the construction site of USAID-supported low cost housing project is also on the program of Hillary who will announce a US additional assistance to promote people's access to property.

Mrs. Clinton's trip to Morocco will be the last leg of a visit to Egypt (March 21-25) and Tunisia (March 25-27).

"Throughout the trip, the First Lady will underscore the commitment of the United States to strengthening the bonds of friendship between the United States and these nations -- and the bonds of understanding between the Untied States and the entire Arab world," the statement said.
