Abdul Meguid and al-Dakhil discuss Iraq's demands
Regional-Iraq, Politics, 3/17/1999

Arab League Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid discussed with Kuwaiti Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Abd al-Aziz al-Dakhil the Kuwaiti refusal of Iraq's demand to list two items on the meetings agenda of the Arab foreign ministers: the no-fly zone imposed on Iraq and the Iraqi, Kuwaiti and Saudi missing.

Abdul Meguid said Kuwait was opposing the issues' inclusion and that the Arab League hopes for more approach and Arab solidarity.

"Despite several hardships, there is a chance for frankness and discussion and I think that the letters exchanged between the Iraqi president and the Arab League confirm our desire to hold a subjective discussion, but this does not prevent the disagreement in the points of view," he said.
