Iraq calls on the Arab states to break the embargo imposed on it

The Iraqi daily al-Jouhureyah (the Republic) on Tuesday called on the Arab foreign ministers who will meet today in Cairo to break the embargo imposed on Iraq by all means and to condemn the US and British aggression against it.

The Iraqi daily added that the Arab FMs "are invited to condemn the aggression and its continuation on Iraq, to refusing the siege and not to permit foreign pressures on their decision-making."

Iraqi Foreign Minister Muhammad Saeed al- Sahaf left Baghdad on Tuesday heading for Cairo where he will attend meetings of the AL ministerial council on March 17 and 18.

Iraqi sources said that al-Sahaf will hold several meetings with his Arab counterparts on the sidelines of the session's meeting to discuss means of strengthening bilateral relations between Iraq and the Arab states.
