Fighting continue between Ethiopia, Eritrea
Ethiopia-Eritrea, Politics, 3/17/1999

For the third running day battles on Tuesday continued between the armies of Eritrea and Ethiopia on the central front on the border between the two countries.

AFP said that once again Addis Ababa said Eritrea had invaded and occupied Ethiopian territories during May and June 1998, thereby violating international law. Ethiopia had, moreover, accused Eritrea of refusing to withdraw its troops.

Since November 1998 Ethiopia has been demanding the withdrawal of Eritrea's troops from several areas on the central and Eastern fronts, whereas Asmara calls for disarmament of the joint border areas between the two countries located in the African Horn.
