Abdul Meguid confirms Arab League efforts to resolve problem of Kuwaiti captives
Regional, Politics, 3/16/1999

Arab League Secretary General Esmat Abdul Meguid reviewed with the representatives of the Kuwait national student union the efforts exerted by the AL to solve the problem with Iraq regarding the Kuwaiti captives.

Arab League Assistant Secretary General Ahmed Bin Hali said that Abdul Meguid stated during his meeting with the Kuwaiti delegation that he will resume the AL's efforts regarding this matter on all levels with the Iraqi officials, through the Red Cross which is handling this issue, and the committee on prisoners of war affiliated to the United Nations.

The Kuwaiti delegation of Kuwaiti students, in Cairo under the slogan "Our captives a reality and not fiction," asked Abdul Meguid to exert more efforts to work on releasing those captives and to learn the fate of the missing, because they form for their families and for Kuwait a tragedy on the humanitarian and social levels.
