Jospin to open Egyptian French week in May
Egypt-France, Economics, 3/16/1999

French Prime Minister Lionel Jospin will inaugurate on May 2 the French week in Egypt, France Expo '99.

The week includes an exhibition of 1,800 participating French companies and symposiums and workshops regarding investment opportunities in Egypt and fields of economic and commercial cooperation between Egypt and France.

Jean Marc De La Sabliere, the French ambassador in Cairo, said yesterday that France considers Egypt among its biggest commercial partners in the world, as the volume of commercial exchange between the two countries reached 10 billion French francs during last year and the French take part in financing infrastructure projects in Egypt, including projects for electricity, energy, water, environment and subways, adding that the French week will include bilateral work meetings among the businessmen in the two countries.
