Mubarak confers with Jordan's Abdullah for the first time

Egyptian President Hosni Muabrark and Jordan's King Abdullah inaugurated today a power linkage project between the Egyptian town of Taba and Jordan's Red Sea port, Aqaba.
Following the project's inauguration, the two leaders held a bilateral summit for the first time since King Abdullah came to power.
The two leaders discussed means of enhancing bilateral relations between Egypt and Jordan, the current state of the peace process and issues of joint interest.
Jordanian official sources told ArabicNews.com that the Jordanian - Egyptian leaders discussed how to confront the destructive policy of Netanyahu toward the peace process, which has converted the region into a war but without arms.
The source confirmed the agreement between Egyptian and Jordanian points of view toward the Israeli policy over Palestine and confirmed its support for any step taken by Palestinian President Yasser Arafat in the future toward declaring Palestinian state by May 4.
