Syrian-European partnership talks start today in Brussels

Meetings of the third session of official talks on the Syrian-European partnership association agreement project are to start today in Brussels. Among the topics to be discussed are industrial agricultural, commercial, scientific and technical cooperation between Syria and the European Union.

The meetings will discuss the Syrian - European partnership, exchanging industrial and agricultural products, industrial and agricultural cooperation. They will also focus on intensifying economic, financial, commercial, scientific and technical cooperation, and using technology in Syria to contribute to modernizing and developing the service and production sectors.

The meeting also aims at encouraging competitive performance to promote Syria's development efforts and strengthen economic and commercial relations for the benefit of both the Syrian and European sides.

The Syrian delegation to the meeting will be led by the deputy minister of state for planning, Tawfiq Ismael, who is also the chairman of the technical committee for the Syrian-European partnership talks. The European side is chaired by the director of the Southern Mediterranean and Far and Middle East Departments at the European Commission.
