Poll: Most Jordanians support confederation with Palestine

The Jordanian newspaper al-Arab al-Youm conducted a poll today in which it found that most Jordanians support distinguished federal relations between Jordan and Palestine, but after an independent Palestinian state is established.
The poll also indicated that 51% of the people who were consulted support a union with the Palestinian state. The number of those who opposed unity or the union before the establishment of a Palestinian state amounted to 60%.
The poll indicated that 82% of the people do not support a trilateral confederation including Israel as well as Jordan and the Palestinian state in case of its establishment, while 61% refused to alternate on the presidency of the assumed Palestinian - Jordanian union. 50% did not support the establishment of a decision from the legislative authorities of Jordan and Palestine.
Concerning the economic situation 52% expected that the Jordanian - Palestinian union would lead to economic prosperity in Jordan, while 75% expect economic propriety in Palestinian Authority regions.
