Yemen to re-mediate for halting media campaign between Iraq and Arab states

Yemeni Foreign Minister Abdul Qader Bajmal has stated that his country will once again try to mediate for halting media campaigns between Iraq and several Arab states.

He, on the other hand, admitted the difficult condition in this respect, noting that every side had explained what had been previously debated by Yemen in this regard (for mediation) in his own way. In a statement to the London based (al-Sharq Al Awsat ) daily today, Bajmal admitted that there are difficulties facing the 7-member Arab committee which was formed following the consultation meeting of the Arab Foreign ministers. He denied news that his country had received from the Arab - Maghreb states or through the Arab League any note on these states' refusal to participate in the said committee which was formed for the sake of Iraq.

He indicated that in practice the said committee had no activity so far but legally speaking "no body can eliminate its role."
