King Abdullah confers with Indyk

King Abdullah of Jordan on Saturday discussed in Amman with the US under secretary of state Martin Indyk developments concerning current conditions in the region especially the situation in Iraq.

During the meeting, the two sides also discussed means of reactivating the ME peace process in light of the current stalemate the ME peace suffers, as a result of the policy pursued by the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Jordan sources told journalists that King Abdullah has asserted the need of reactivating the peace process in order to achieve just and comprehensive peace. Bilateral relations were also reviewed.

Meantime, Jordanian e.;..._ Minister abdulfo?? Al? Rawabedah also met with Indyk who arrived in Amman on Friday night in a short work visit to Amman in the course of his tour on the region. Talks between the two sides dealt with, according to a Jordanian press statement, dealt with current political developments in the region, especially the peace process and efforts exerted to revive it as well as the Iraqi crisis. Talks also dealt with Jordanian- US relations and means of strengthening and consolidating them and increasing US aids offered to Jordan SANA.
