Russian - Egyptian trade exchange worth $400 million
Egypt-Russia, Economics, 3/13/1999
The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Russia during 1998 amounted to 400 million.
The Russian trade representative in Cairo, Alexandria Golco, said that most exports to Egypt have been represented in cars, spare parts, packaging materials, machines and heavy tools, while Egyptian exports concentrated on fruit, onions, and leather.
Golco said the volume of commercial exchange between the two countries has witnessed a great decrease since the end of the 1970s to now, and he confirmed that Moscow continues to upgrade the major projects of Egypt, such as the high dam, iron and steel, and factories for glass and cement built in the 1960s with Russia's help.
