Syrian President Hafez al-Assad today will take the oath before the People's Assembly on the occasion of the beginning of his fifth constitutional term. Official sources in the Iranian ministry of defense said that Minister of Defense Prince Sultan bin Abd al-Aziz will pay an official visit in coming April. His visit to Iran is the first for Saudi minister of defense heading a large military and political delegation. Go

US's First Lady Hillary Clinton is due to arrive in Egypt on March 21 for a four-day visit. Libyan President Moammar Gaddafi on Tuesday night visited in Cairo the Egyptian satellite station "Nile Sat" and the city for media production where he met with its artists and staff. Sawt al-Arab radio said that Egyptian Information Minister Safwat al-Sharif, who accompanied Gaddafi on his tour, explained to him the characteristics of this city and the development of artistic and media production in Egypt. Iraq has called on the Arab states, when they will discuss the question of the no-fly zones imposed on northern and southern Iraq, at the Arab foreign ministers' meeting on March 17 and 18 to take a clear-cut stand which provides for asking the US and Britain to halt the use of force against Iraq and to hold the two countries responsible in this respect. The Israeli embassy in Moscow said on Wednesday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will pay a working visit to Moscow on March 21 and 22.
