Washington holds Taleban responsible for Bin Laden
Regional-Afghanistan, Politics, 3/11/1999

US Undersecretary of State Karl Inderfurth has held the Afghan Taleban movement responsible for the acts carried out by Osama Bin Laden in the areas which fall under its control.

On Tuesday night, Inderfurth announced that the Taleban movement is playing a "risky and unwise game" when saying that Bin Laden is no longer under its own control, stressing that Bin Laden is still in the areas under the Taleban movement's control.

Inderfurth added that there is no evidence on that Bin Laden had left Afghanistan despite the statements made by the Taleban since last February.

Inderfurth continued that the US will continue pressure to expel Bin Laden, who has been accused by the US of being responsible for planning the two explosions which hit the US embassies in Nairobi and Kenya in 1998.
