Jordanian King meets with Cohen

King Abdullah Bin al-Hussein of Jordan on Wednesday in Amman discussed with US Defense Secretary William Cohen the general situation in the region, especially the conditions in the Arab Gulf and Iraq. Talks also dealt with the US aid, especially military aid, to Jordan. Cohen also briefed King Abdullah on the results of his tour of the Gulf region.

The US president had asked the congress to give additional aid to Jordan at a cost of US $35 million, besides the annual aid estimated at US $235 million for 1999.
