Conference for Mediterranean - European parliaments in Cairo in 2000

The conference of European - Mediterranean parliament leaders will hold its coming conference in 2000 in Cairo.

A source in the Egyptian Foreign Ministry announced that this decision was taken unanimously after the end of the meeting of the first conference, which was held in Spain, in which a delegation chaired by the head of the Egyptian People's Assembly, Fathi Srour, took part.

The source said the conference aims at boosting political, economic and trade exchange between the countries of Mediterranean and Europe to implement the partnership agreements between the Mediterranean countries.
