Saudi crown prince confers with Cohen

Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz on Sunday at al-Yamamah palace in Riyadh met with US Secretary of Defense William Cohen and members of his accompanying delegation, who have completed a visit to Saudi Arabia.

Present at the meeting were the two advisors at the Saudi royal court, Abdul Aziz Bin Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz and Abdul Mohsin al-Tweijari, as well as the US charge d'affairs to Saudi Arabia.

Earlier in the day, Saudi Defense Minister Prince Sultan Bin Abdul Aziz held a meeting with Cohen during which talks dealt with bilateral relations between the two countries and issues of mutual concern.

Cohen left Riyadh later in the day concluding a two-day visit to Saudi Arabia.

A US official in Riyadh said on Sunday that the US agreed to sell air-to-air missiles of AMRAAM type to Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is the third Arab state that will received such a developed type of missiles after Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates.
