Morocco seeks external funds to connect eastern city to rail network
Morocco, Economics, 3/6/1999
Moroccan minister of transport and merchant navy, Mustapha Mansouri, said connecting the city of Nador (northeastern Morocco) to the rail network would require an investment of $ 208.4 Million (two billion dirhams).
The minister told MAP after he launched construction works for an international airport in the city that the Moroccan railway authority "ONCF" is prospecting the possibility of having external funds for the railway project that will entail positive effects not only for the province of Nador but for the whole eastern region.
The railway will also re-launch activities in the local port, he added.
