Border crossing to be opened between Syria and Turkey

The member states in the Group of 8 Developing Islamic Countries (D-8) agreed on Egypt to host the group's third summit in 2001. Spokesman for the Czech Aero DeFodshi company said the company had signed a contract with the Yemeni government to deliver Sanaa during 1999 some 12 planes for military training of "al-Petros L 39 type." The spokesman, who refused to define the value of the contract, added that the company, of which the US Boeing company owns 35%, will provide the Yemeni air fleet with additional spare parts and will train pilots and technicians.
