Lebanese committee on privatization law will conclude work within two weeks

Lebanese economic sources expected that the committee authorized to examine the draft law on privatization will be ending its work within two weeks. The law aims at elucidating the meanings of privatization, especially pertaining to production units in order to upgrade Lebanon's financial markets.

The sources said that Lebanese expatriate investors have participated in the preliminary meetings of this committee, and they expressed their complete readiness to enhance the privatization project aimed at financing the plan to reconstructing Lebanon through participating by subscription, shares, treasury bonds and financial papers.

They added that coming European loans will be used to upgrade the performance of the Lebanese public sector and confront the losses of this sector.
