Kuwait boycotts meetings of Arab health ministers over Iraqi presidency
Kuwait-Iraq, Politics, 3/4/1999

Kuwaiti Minister of Health Dr. Adel al-Sabeeh boycotted the inaugural session of the 23rd meeting of the council of Arab health ministers held on Wednesday at the headquarters of the Arab League, because Iraqi Health Minister Dr. Omid Medhat presided over the meeting.

Al-Sabeih returned to attend the closed-door meetings of the session.

Kuwait submitted a report to the meeting on setting up a central Arab network for medical information and stressed the adoption of the executive plan for the project at a cost of 107,000 dinars. The project is to be completed within one and a half years under the supervision of the Arab Center for Documents and Printing.

The council discussed forming a work team in order to prepare a paper on drawing up an Arab agreement that provides for banning "human cloning."
