Lahoud, al-Hoss meet on Arnoun issue

Lebanese President Emile Lahoud on Wednesday discussed with Prime Minister Salim al-Hoss political and diplomatic contacts held by Lebanon in order to halt the Israeli air attacks which targeted areas deep in the Lebanese territories.

Talks also dealt with measures taken by the Lebanese government to deal with arising developments.

In the same context, al-Hoss met on Wednesday night with the German ambassador to Lebanon. They two sides discussed conditions in south Lebanon in light of the escalation of the Israeli aggressions against Lebanon.

Following the meeting, the German ambassador said he briefed al-Hoss on contacts made by the EU to calm the situation down in south Lebanon. The ambassador added that talks also dealt with aid the EU can offer to the city of Arnoun to help it restore normalcy.
