Syrian president confers with former Lebanese president

Syrian President Hafez al-Assad on Wednesday received in Damascus former Lebanese President Elias Hrawi and his two sons, Rowy and Rolan. The two Presidents discussed during their al-Rawda Palace meeting "conditions in the region and matters of interest for both Syria and Lebanon." In the afternoon, al-Assad gave a luncheon in honor of Hrawi, attended by high-ranking Syrian officials.
