Hizbullah Secretary confers with Russian ambassador in Beirut

The secretary general of the Hizbullah Party, Hassan Nasrullah, on Wednesday received the Russian ambassador to Lebanon. During the meeting, talks dealt with latest developments in south Lebanon and its western Bekaa in light of Israeli threats.
Following the meeting, the Russian ambassador stressed that Russia's official position is that it is against escalating tensions in south Lebanon and that sides concerned have to honor the April Understanding.
The ambassador added that Russia is making contacts with the Israeli and Lebanese sides to convince them to honor the April Understanding, to use self control and to restore calm in the context of the agreement.
