Kuwaiti Parliament speaker refuses to meet with Jordanian FM

The Kuwaiti daily al-Anba' said that speaker of the Kuwaiti nation's council Ahmad Abdul Aziz al-Sadoun refused to receive Jordanian Foreign Minister Abd al-Ilah al-Khatib in the course of the latter's meeting with high-ranking Kuwaiti officials during his current visit to Kuwait. The visit is the first for a Jordanian official to Kuwait in 8 years.
The paper quoted well-informed Kuwaiti sources as saying that the deputy parliament speaker will receive al-Khatib, while Saadoun had left for Doha on a private visit which was not on his agenda previously.
The sources said the visit of the Jordanian minister to Kuwait pushed Saadoun to make his private visit to Qatar.
