El-Baz: Israeli military mastery encourages it to commit unjustified aggressions
Egypt-Israel, Politics, 3/3/1999

Osama El-Baz, the political advisor for Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, stressed that Israel must abandon its weapons of mass destruction and implement the peace initiatives in the Middle East.

During a meeting held in Cairo in the framework of the cultural season, El-Baz stated that Israel's military superiority encourages it to commit aggressions, even if they are unjustified, and that Israel must eliminate its nuclear program.

He also said the conflict with Israel is not a border conflict, but a conflict for rights. He added that the area does not bear military alliances of any kind, out of fear of endless conflicts.

He referred to the status in Iraq as threatening Arab national security, and the status in the area as affecting Egyptian national security.
