King Hassan II stresses that Muslims need uniting factors more than ever
Morocco, Religion, 2/27/1999

King Hassan II underlined that the Islamic nation needs more than ever factors likely to consolidate its unity, despite the diversity of ethnic groups, races, countries and rites.

In a message to Moroccan pilgrims as the first group left Morocco to perform the pilgrimage to Islam's holy shrines in Saudi Arabia, the king said Islam created pilgrimage as an opportunity to bring together all Muslims throughout the world to know each other and promote understanding and concord among them. He added that the seventh pillar of Islam is also meant to be a renewed frame to consolidate ties binding Muslims and accomplish good deeds.

The king's message calls Moroccan pilgrims to live fully this experience that promotes unification beyond all enmities, fanaticism and selfishness. He also called on them to show discipline, cooperation and understanding with the Moroccan medical, administrative and guidance delegation in charge of facilitating their stay in Saudi Arabia.

"Follow their advice, be watchful to their orientations and show them gratitude for their efforts so that you accomplish all the rites in the best conditions and give to other people an example to follow and the lighthouse that shows them the path," the king urged pilgrims.
