Morocco and Canada agree on quality management project
Morocco-Canada, Politics, 2/27/1999
Morocco and Canada signed in Rabat on Friday an agreement on a quality management project as part of the "Fund for the private sector development."
The document was signed by the Moroccan minister of agriculture, rural development and fisheries, Habib Malki and Canadian minister of international cooperation and francophony, Diane Marleau, who is part of a delegation accompanying Canada's governor general, Romeo Le Blanc, visiting Morocco.
The Moroccan minister hailed the "renewed" cooperation with Canada as an initiative meant to mark Canada's presence in Morocco's development process in a context of globalization and harsh competitiveness.
He explained that the project seeks to upgrade the competitiveness of Moroccan products in local and external markets, increase professionals' awareness of quality requirements and set forth a dynamic production and marketing system for Moroccan foodstuffs
