Morocco's 1999-2003 strategy targets four million tourists

Morocco's strategy in tourism for the 1999-2003 period aims to attract four million visitors, said Moroccan Tourism Minister Hassan Sebbar.
Foreign tourists visiting Morocco are expected to increase by 12.5% in the 2000-2003 period while the number of nights spent by tourists will reach 43 million by 2003 in comparison with the 1998 figure of 31 million, he added.
He also announced that an additional 30,000 beds will be created to meet the growing demand and 204,000 jobs will be generated.
Investments required are estimated at over $700 million, including $505 million for the construction of new hotel units.
