European parliament's committee calls for integrating Libya in Stuttgart conference

The European parliament's committee of foreign affairs, security and defense policy adopted Wednesday a report calling for integrating Libya in the upcoming Euro-Mediterranean conference of foreign ministers.
The report stresses that provided that Libya meets commitments included in the UN security council resolutions and that it recognizes the principles of the Barcelona conference mainly the right to existence of all partners in the dialogue process, Libya will be invited to attend the Stuttgart conference next April 15-16.
The committee also recommended to grant to Mediterranean countries which are not member of the European Union an observer status.
The committee also urges for bringing the middle east peace process out of the present deadlock in order to move forward in the Mediterranean policy.
