Morocco adopts new customs code
Morocco, Economics, 2/25/1999
Morocco adopted Wednesday a new customs code which will help Moroccan enterprises and exporters improve performance and enhance competitiveness to be up to the market-economy challenges.
The new code, which meets the expectations of businessmen and exporters, will sustain Morocco's economic overture by simplifying the customs administrative procedures and mainly the goods clearance tracks, Spokesman for the Moroccan government told reporters at a briefing held in Rabat after the weekly cabinet meeting.
The new law -- which is in harmony with the international customs regulations-- will help Morocco to combat frauds and tax evasion, the spokesman said.
