Moroccan foreign minister in Argentina

Moroccan minister of foreign affairs and cooperation Abdellatif Filali paid an official visit to Argentina this February 21-23, first leg of a Latin American tour that will also lead him to Brazil and Paraguay.
During the visit, Filali was received by President Carlos Menem who underscored the brotherly ties existing between the two countries and who renewed the invitation extended to King Hassan II to pay a visit to Argentina.
Filali also conferred with his Argentinean peer, Guido Bi Tella, on means of enhancing bilateral cooperation. The two sides decided to hold shortly in Rabat a joint meeting of senior officials of the foreign departments in line with the provisions of the protocol of understanding binding them. The meeting will follow up the implementation of the accords concluded by the two countries.
The coming meeting in Argentina of the Morocco-Argentina parliamentary group of friendship was brought up at talks between Filali and Eduardo Monem, acting speaker of the Argentinean Senate and chairman of the senate foreign relations committee.
The Moroccan official equally conferred with members of the Argentinean higher council for international relations on a set of outstanding international issues. Filali was named on the occasion honorary member of the council.
