Lebanese president confers with US ambassador, UNIFIL chief

Lebanese President Emile Lahoud met on Wednesday with the US ambassador in Beirut, David Satterfield.
The two sides reviewed the developments in south Lebanon, especially matters relating to the annexation of the Lebanese town of Arnoun to the occupied part of south Lebanon, and the inability of the April Understanding committee to reach a solution to Arnoun question in restoring conditions to what they had been before February 17.
Earlier in the day, the Lebanese president met at Baabda palace with the commander of UNIFIL in Lebanon, who was accompanied by UNIFIL's spokesman. Talks dealt with conditions in south Lebanon and the role played by UNIFIL.
