Norwegian prime minister visits Cairo today

Norwegian Prime Minister Kjell Magne Bondevik arrived today in Cairo for a two-day official visit, during which will hold talks with Egyptian Prime Minister Kamal El-Ganzouri and high-ranking Egyptian politicians.
Bondevik will also meet with Al-Azhar Imam Sheikh Mohammed Sayed Tantawi and Pope Shenuda of the Copts.
Bondevik's will discuss enhancing bilateral relations in different areas, especially economic relations.
Norwegian diplomatic sources in Cairo said that the Norwegian prime minister's talks have a special importance because they come amid Bondevik's tour of some of the area's countries, including Israel, the lands of the Palestinian Authority, Jordan and Egypt.
The Norwegian prime minister's visit to Egypt comes at the conclusion of his tour as Bondevik will inform the Egyptian leaders about his talks during and his meetings with the Israeli prime minister, the Palestinian president and the Jordanian monarch, King Abdullah, to review the latest developments in the area.
