Sudan, Politics, 2/24/1999

The Sudanese government protested yesterday over Uganda hosting a conference for the Sudanese armed opposition as aimed at topping the legitimate government of Sudan by the use of violence.

In the meantime, Sudanese Foreign Minister Mustafa Othman Ismael sent a communique to the head of the United Nations Security Council, in which he said the intervention of Uganda in the internal affairs of Sudan and neighboring countries has became a serious problem that the Security Council, should end not only to maintain Sudan's stability but to maintain the peace and stability of the region.
